A special process typically is used to add a picture to a piece of fabric. However, there are printing kits available that allow you to use the sun to print photos onto fabric. These kits can be found at most craft stores and various online sites like Amazon. A few other supplies also are needed to obtain the result that is desired. You can use any type of cotton fabric for this project. In most cases the best choice will be a plain white t-shirt or any non-printed light colored cotton fabric.

A sunny day will provide you the best result when you want to print photos onto fabric. The time to do this project is when the sun is at its peak. This is typically between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm. If your photo does not seem to develop just right, then you will need to try again. The dye that is used to print photos onto fabric is activated by the light of the sun. This means you may need to use your best judgment to determine if the color is the shade you prefer.
