Are you looking for a simple and fun way to make a homemade gift? There are many options that are available depending on what you are interested in making. If you have some white dollar store coffee mugs, then you can easily add a fun design with watercolors as a DIY project. Making your own DIY watercolor mugs is super easy to do at home.

DIY Watercolor Mugs Supplies

Ceramic Coffee Mugs
Toothpicks
Nail Polish (any color)
Plastic Tub
Paper Towels

Instructions

Step 1

Fill the plastic tub with warm water from a bathroom or kitchen faucet.

Step 2

Add a few drops of nail polish to the warm water. Add a few drops of another color if you want a two-tone design.

Step 3

Stir the nail polish gently with a toothpick to create a simple design for your coffee mug.

Step 4

Dip the side of your coffee mug into the water and the nail polish will adhere very quickly. Set the mug aside to dry for at least two hours.

Make sure to hand DIY wash watercolor coffee mugs as hot water from a dishwasher will ruin the design. Clear acrylic sealant can also be added to protect the design.
