Our kids have always loved coloring books, just like we did when we were kids. Our oldest son always says that we must’ve been kids in the Dark Ages. He thinks they hadn’t even invented crayons and coloring books in our day. However, my siblings encouraged a love for coloring and creativity that we expressed in our coloring books. We even enjoyed the friendly rivalry when we fought over the crayons and vied for the honor of having the best picture of the day. Although none of us could draw very well, our coloring book art was still pretty special to us.

Back then, we had never even thought of personalized coloring books. Although we would spend a lot of time and energy making our coloring books individualized, we thought they all came from the store. Finding this helpful guide on how to make personalized coloring books for our kids was quite a treat. What could be better than making a coloring book for them that has personalized pictures of their brothers and sisters, our cat, dog, and our own house? Our youngest son is especially fond of our dog, Princess, and we knew that he would be excited about getting to color lots of pictures of her. And, since our oldest son now has kids of his own, we just had to make personalized coloring books for each one of them as a gift, too.

Making personalized coloring books is easier than you might think and requires only a few supplies and some special software. All you’ll need for supplies is some cardstock, digital photos, a printer, some glue, scissors, needle and thread, and binder clips. The last item you’ll need is a picture-editing program that will allow you to adjust the photos to make your personalized coloring books.
