Is your yard covered in dandelions? If so, you can collect those “weeds” and use them to make dandelion honey mead or this luxurious dandelion soap.

Dandelion soap is rich in antioxidants which makes it ideal for minimizing the signs of aging. Because dandelions are highly alkaline, microbial, and anti-fungal, they can be used in soaps and lotions to treat itchy skin from stings, bug bites, poison ivy, sunburns, and even eczema and athlete’s foot.

You can use a hot process method or a cold process method to make dandelion soap. The recipe uses the hot process method, and a slow cooker is necessary for the preparation. You will need a suitable mold to make each bar of soap.

Overall, this project is fairly quick and easy. The time to heat your soap mixture until it is ready to be poured into your molds is about one hour. Your soap will need at least one day to cool before it can be used.
